A consumer newsletter is designed to
keep your name top-of-the-mind when they think about heating and air
conditioning. It’s designed to give them a warm and fuzzy feeling
about your company.
This is a consumer newsletter you can mail to your customers. While
the newsletter deals with industry issues, it is not completely HVAC
focused. It also focuses on items that will interest homeowners. And
that’s the point of a newsletter. Make it something they look
forward to receiving and will read because it contains items of
interest and relevance to their lives.
The lead story for the Winter Consumer Newsletter is reducing a
homeowner's carbon footprint with HVAC. Whether you agree with the
notion of anthropogenic (i.e., man caused) global warming or not is
irrelevant. Many of your customers undoubtedly do accept it.
Moreover, they are emotional about it. Emotion is something lacking
from too many HVAC sales. After all, people BUY on emotion.
A special offer of free A/C maintenance for two years with the
purchase of a new system is made on page 3. You might want to change
the offer. If you do not change or eliminate the offer, you should
be prepared to honor it. In the conclusion of the lead article on
the same page, homeowners are promised a carbon footprint savings
estimate. This can be calculated using the Service Roundtable's
carbon footprint calculator.
The editorial on the last page discusses the refrigerant phase-out
and the global warming potential of R-22 and R-410A. The emphasis is
the need to regular maintenance and leak repairs. Change it to a
personal message if you have time.
This newsletter is designed to be printed on 11” X 17” paper and
folded. Fold it again, tape it closed, and it’s ready to mail. Be
sure the change the RED text to information about your company. You
must change text near the top of the first page, the text on the top
of the second page, in the body of the "Simple Tips For Green
Living" article on the second page, text on the masthead of the
second page, text in the last paragraph of the article on page
three, and the mailing address on the back page.
You might also want to give the newsletters to your technicians to
pass out to new customers on service calls.
On the second page, homeowners are encouraged to spread the word
about your newsletter and to suggest others for a subscription. When
they do, they and their friend are both promised a $10 gift
certificate (with your company, of course). Anyone you add to your
customer list from this method is an excellent prospect, thanks to
the referral. You can find the gift certificate by searching the
archives.
There are color and black and white versions of the newsletter.
This version contains all four pages. It is a very large file and
will take some time to download. The file is zipped to speed
downloads.
